Introducing: Maria Dubois

The idea to create the Maria Dubois brand came to its head designer Maria in 2012. At that time, there was a large number of companies on the wedding market offering corset-based wedding dresses. Working in her studio, Maria began to receive many requests for custom corset-less wedding dresses, as the brides wanted to be able to move freely on their big day, without having to suffer from the centuries old binding effect and all the agony that often comes with the indisputably revolutionary invention that a corset is. Nowadays, however, women tend to opt for a combination of beautiful designs which also provide comfort, instead of enduring what some might call a real torture on one of the most important days of their lifes.

Maria, therefore, came to the conclusion that she also wanted to make the dresses themselves as lightweight as possible, getting rid of large amounts of fabrics and linings which usually add weight to the dress.

In her mind, the image of a bride from Maria Dubois was born, with its primary focus being on femininity and elegance. Simple forms that emphasize the figure of the bride, without translating into the category of vulgarity. She opted for open backs that add sexuality and mystery. Further the delicate and soft fabrics and lace are nice to touch and feel. The design itself is not overloaded with details and, of course, provides freedom of movement throughout the day.

Love,
Melanie
