How does made-to-measure work for wedding dresses?
Once you have chosen your dream gown and discussed any preferred customizations with a consultant via online chat (if required), you will submit your measurements using our detailed video guide, which helps you take them correctly with the assistance of a family member or friend. These measurements will then be carefully reviewed by our head technologist to ensure accuracy. Afterward, your dress will enter handcrafted production by our skilled tailors. Once completed, the gown will be carefully prepared and dispatched to you.
How long does it take to receive my wedding dress?
Each wedding dress, whether in a standard size or made to measure, is handcrafted from scratch especially for you. Production takes 8–12 weeks for most gowns and 10–14 or 12–16 weeks for some; each gown's page shows its time. Simpler styles are finished sooner, while intricate gowns take longer, as every decorative element is sewn on by hand. Delivery then takes 1–2 weeks by DHL Express or UPS Priority. We recommend ordering 4–6 months before your wedding, and we ask for your wedding date with every order so that production and delivery can be planned around it. Need it sooner? On request, express production is possible from about 30 days from order to your door, worldwide, depending on the design and date: tell us your gown and your wedding date before you order, and a consultant will confirm whether express is possible for that design and date, and what it involves.
Can I customize the design of my wedding dress?
Yes. Most gowns can be customized: tell us via online chat how you would like to personalize your gown, and our head technologist and head designer will confirm what is possible for that design while keeping it wearable and beautiful. Each customization request is carefully reviewed by our team of professionals, and we will promptly get back to you with all the necessary information.
What if my wedding dress does not fit?
Each made-to-measure gown is made using your 21 measurements, and our head technologist reviews them before production begins. Under our Terms of Service, tailor-made gowns are delivered in the measurements in your order within an allowance of up to 2.5 cm (1 in). If your gown arrives with a manufacturing defect, tell us within 15 days of receiving it for an exchange or a full refund; your statutory consumer rights also apply. Made-to-measure and customised gowns can't be returned for a change of mind or a wrong size selection. Standard-size gowns without customisation can be returned on request within 14 days of receipt (return shipping and a restocking deduction apply; Value Collection gowns are not returnable). You can cancel any order by emailing info@devotiondresses.com within 24 hours of placing it.
